I recently learned of Mgr. Cassidy's death. He was our parish priest during my days at St. Barnabas High School. In extending my condolences, I must include my gratitude for his encouraging me to attend The College of New Rochelle. That experience set me on a life course that led me to become a Clinical Social Worker and helped me find the strength to care for my intellectually and developmentally disabled autistic daughter. I will always be grateful for his guidance. God bless you, Msgr. Cassidy, and may your loved ones find peace.

I remember Father Cassidy from St Barnabas. He really had the respect of the grammar school students. He would take the Altar Boys every year to Rye Beach for the day. As a Bishop at another priests funeral recently said," to be remembered as a good priest," is the greatest tribute we can receive. Father Cassidy was a "good priest," May he Rest in Peace.
