Joanne worked for many years in Lamont's Personnel Department; she was infinitely competent and genuinely helpful, and always a pleasure to talk to: somehow, she had a way of talking about even most mundane things that she was helping with in an interesting and pleasant way. I was sorry to see her leaving Lamont a few years ago, and now I am very sad to hear of her passing. To Joanne's family, my condolences and deepest sympathy for your loss.

I am truly sorry to hear this sad news. Joanne was really a nice person, always helpful and friendly in her job at LDEO, and I was sad to see her go when she retired. May she rest in peace, and my sincere condolences to her family.

Joanne was married to my cousin Gene her death has come as a shock to us as she was a very private and brave woman and did not let on to anyone that she was ill. She had a beautiful smile sweet laugh and made us laugh many times. She was loved by her in-laws as they saw the joy that she brought to Gene's life. She will be deeply missed. I know there must be tremendous heartbreak for her mother and family she leaves behind. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. Praying that you will find comfort in your faith knowing that she is peaceful and pain free and in the loving arms of her Creator. Marlene De Angelo Rink

Truly sad to hear of Joanne's passing. We worked across our departments for the whole time she was at Lamont, and shared many thorny issues which always managed to get solved with our senses of humor intact. Memories of my working life will always include Joanne. Peach to you all.
