Dolores Teresa Harrison was born into eternal life on Friday, March 25th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Dolores was born in Sunnyside, Queens. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret McGovern Harrison. An academic enthusiast, she earned numerous advanced degrees from several notable schools including Fordham University, Manhattan College, Buffalo University, St. John's University, Georgetown University and the Harvard School of Divinity. She was a highly respected teacher and professor. She served as the Principal of The Saint Michael Academy, a prestigious female school in New York City, for seven years. Dolores entered the religious life as a young woman. She was a sister of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary for over 20 years. She was a devout Roman Catholic and was dedicated to helping others. She traveled extensively to third world countries to assist and teach the underprivileged. Most recently, she was a tutor in the Carmel community. She was also a communicant of St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel. Dolores possessed a love of reading and travel and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed being with her family and her friends and was affectionately known as Aunt Dolores by many. She was the loving and adoring aunt to eight nieces and one nephew.

She is also survived by eighteen great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Patrick J. Harrison, Mary H. Langan and John Harrison.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Cargain Funeral Home at 10 Fowler Avenue in Carmel, NY on Tuesday, March 29th from 2-4pm and 5-7pm. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 30th at 10am at Saint James the Apostle Church at 14 Gleneida Avenue in Carmel, NY. A private burial will take place in Albany, NY.
