Peter McCole Obituary
Peter Michael McCole of Mamaroneck, N.Y. died on Friday, September 14, 2012 at age 78. Peter was born on September 29, 1933 to John and Elizabeth (Collins) McCole in the Bronx, N.Y.C. Peter served and was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Early in his career, Peter worked as an engineer for the Fisher Governor co., and later he was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Syracuse Public Housing Authority by the Mayor of Syracuse, Peter also served as the Director of a Federal Home Ownership Program in Syracuse. As a parishioner at Saint Lucy's, Peter worked and taught in a number of programs for the community and worked with Father Raymond McVey to establish Unity Acres in Orwell, N.Y. His family was a Host Family for the Fresh Air Fund and Peter donated his time as a dispatcher for the Cazenovia Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Cazenovia, N.Y. Peter was a Parachutist, Motorcycle enthusiast, Secular Humanist, and Postlaryngectomy Cancer Survivor. Peter is survived by his former wife Eleanor (McEnery) McCole with whom he remained close and his Sons; Peter McCole of Cazenovia, N.Y., Kevin (Joanne) McCole of Brookline, N.H., Dennis (Camille) McCole of Phoenix, AZ., and Timothy McCole of Harrison, N.Y. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sam, Peter, John, Katie, Jack, Ryan, and Finn; and two sisters, Mary (McCole) Mullane of New City, N.Y. and Barbara McCole of Nanuet, N.Y.. Peter was predeceased by his brother, John 'Jack' McCole. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 2-4 pm at the Michael J. Higgins FS. 321 S. Main St. New City, NY 10956. Hello Ellie,
Shirley Lockwood told me of Peter's death when she called this morning.
I send love to you and your family as I remember all the wonderful times we had with you when you lived in Cazenovia. I still have a small photo of your boys and mine marching down Albany Street on one July 4th.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Peter McCole was always a wonderful person to me. I spent many really great days in the the McCole house in Cazenovia. Favorite memory was loading many cases of beverages into the basement after he got a great deal at the store and the special soda machine in the driveway. Great times. I will miss him!

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
