Albert, William Mott

William Mott Albert, of Pearl River, passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2012, at the age of 79. Bill was born September 1, 1932, at Nyack Hospital to Charles and Frances (Mott) Albert. Bill grew up in Haverstraw graduating Haverstraw High School In 1950. After High School he attended Manhattan College graduating in 1954 with a bachelor of arts in business administration and was a proud alumni association member until his passing. Bill served his country from 1954 to 1956as a member of the Army during the Korean War. After military service he joined the accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co. before being named chief auditor of First Westchester National Bank in 1964. The last thirty years Bill worked as a tax accountant and financial adviser. He was a member of The Haverstraw Knights of Columbus Council #581, a parishioner of St. Aedan's Church for which he served as treasurer for many years. Bill was also a former coach and manager for the Pearl River Senior Babe Ruth League.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years Gloria (Antonelli) of Pearl River. He is also survived by his son Mark and his wife Linda along with his most cherished granddaughter Stephanie of Tappan. He also leaves behind a sister Helene O'Dowd of New City, his brother-in-law Joseph Antonelli of Sarasota Florida, and their families all of whom will miss him dearly. Bill's family would like to thank their many friends whose love, support and generosity have been greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten. A special thank you to Colleen, Melanie, Marsha, Karold and the members of Rockland Hospice who have made the last few months full of comfort and peace for Bill.

The wake will be held at the Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home from 7-9 PM Tuesday, March 13th and 4-9 PM Wednesday March 14th. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Thursday March 1 5" at the Church of St. Aedan, 23 Reld Dr., Pearl River, N.Y., followed by burial at St. Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to United Hospice of Rockland or St. Aedan's Church.
