EMIL CRISCITIELLO Obituary

Emil Dante Criscitiello of Mt. Vernon died February 9, 2002. Emil was born November 21, 1915 to Emilo and Francesca (Apierto) Criscitiello in New York City. He graduated from Fordham Prep. and Fordham University. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages as well as Master's Degree in Language and English Literature, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was a Professor at Fordham University, teaching English Literature. He later served in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant. Because of his expertise in languages, he was enlisted in the service of interrogation of Italian and German prisoners of war. For his service in the area of Investigation he received a Bronze Starr as well as the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. After the war, he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank as the Supervisor of the International Translation Department for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He married Theresa Terracciano September 3, 1942. He is survived by his wife Theresa, one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Francine) Guarino of Watertown, CT, one son, Michael V. Tiso of Deltona, FL, two sisters: Rosann Adessa of Sayville, NY and Frances Terry of Bronxville, NY. Also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
