Sinapi, Jean

Jean (Smelter) Sinapi, 87, of Southbury, CT, died Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was the wife of the late Frank Sinapi, Jr. Mrs. Sinapi was born May 11, 1925 in Peekskill, NY, daughter of the late Bernard and Anna (Morgan) Smelter. She has resided in Southbury for the past seven years, previously living in Katonah, NY. Mrs. Sinapi retired from the Katonah School System where she was an elementary school teacher for 25 years. She enjoyed knitting and reading.

She leaves a son Frank P. Sinapi, III of Southbury, two brothers, Harold Smelter of Port St. Lucie, FL and Bernard Smelter of Garrison, NY, and two grandchildren, Frank Sinapi, IV and Jonathan Sinapi.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial will follow in Ivandell Cemetery, Somers, NY. Friends may call the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Online condolences may be made throughwww.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com
