James Dieter Greenhalgh passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 10 at the age of 67. A native of Wisconsin, he was born on February 17, 1948 to John and Dorothy (Dieter) Greenhalgh. Jim received a Bachelor of Arts in American History from Yale in 1970. In 1973, Jim received his Juris Doctor from NYU Law School, and immediately began the practice of law. He began at Hart and Hume, and later at Jones, Hirsch & Bull. After retiring as Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase, he went on to become Special Counsel to Windels, Marx, Lane & Mittendorf, LLP. He was also a member of the Bartow-Pell Conservancy where in recent years he brought and received much joy as the jolliest of Santas. On February 13, 1983, he married his beloved partner and best friend, Cheryl Lou Hepburn (Cherrie) who survives him, as does his son, Hunter, of whom he was so proud. In addition to his wife and son, Jim is also survived by his brothers Tom (Jolynn) and Greg (Laurette), his sister-in-law, Bonnie Hepburn, nephew Rob (Shelly), and nieces Jennifer, Harmony (Brad), Wendy (Stuart), and Robin (Pete), as well as two grand-nieces, Casey and Reed.
