Joseph Valenti Obituary
Joseph M. Valenti, a former New City resident, died on August 14, he was 79. Born in Nyack on January 20, 1938 to Ralph & Clara D'Auria Valenti. Joseph served in the United States Navy, and was employed by Lamont Doherty Geographical Observation in Palisades, New York for 23 years. Joseph and his wife Barbara lived in New City for 38 years, before moving to Wallington, Florida in 2006.
Joseph is predeceased by his parents, and a son in law Craig. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J., daughters Donna & Joseph Marturana, and Theresa Sturdevant. A funeral service is planned for Saturday at 10:00am at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Nyack with burial to follow. Visiting hours for Joseph are Friday from 4-8pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Joseph's memory to either the Disabled American Veterans, VA Regional Office, PO Box 1437, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33731 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
