Dolores Benesh Obituary

Dolores Benesh
Dolores Benesh, 78, passed away on December 22, 2010 after a long illness.
Born Dolores Davies in New York. She became one of the first women to enter the WAVES during peacetime, where she served for four years in the hospital corps. Upon leaving the Navy, she married Virgil Benesh, a marriage that spanned 56 years, producing six children.
After living briefly in New York and Washington state, Dolores and Virgil settled in Lompoc in 1963. While raising her family in Lompoc, she also served as a Sunday School teacher, a Cub Scout and Brownie leader and pursued her artistic interests by making candles and plaster casts. Later she returned to school and completed an Associate Degree at Allan Hancock.
Dolores will be remembered for her devotion to her children and grandchildren, her wry sense of humor and her independent spirit.
She is survived by her husband, six children, 13 grandchildren, her brother Milton, sister Edna and her nephews and nieces.
Dolores' life will be celebrated in a private memorial on Tuesday, December 28th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Benesh Family and Uncle Milton,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out each and everyone.
Aunt Delores was certainly one of a kind.
I have many memories of her. (The Boston Gang). She will be missed.
When you think about her "SMILE". I never seen her without a "SMILE" on her face.
She is in heaven with her brothers and sister watching over all of us.
God Bless all of you. <3
