Hazel Kauffman Obituary

Hazel Kauffman
1912-2010
Well, it's time for me to say good-bye and time for me to go. I was ready to leave on the evening of Friday, October 1st. I was born in Peoria, Illinois. I was married to my wonderful husband, Albert E. Kauffman, who died in 1998. I've missed him every day since then. We had been married ad happy together for over 60 years. I moved to California and have lived in Santa Barbara and Lompoc. It was a good decision for me to come and be closer to my kids: Dr. Judy Kauffman and her husband Melvin Inglet, Dr. Gary Kauffman, and Lawrence Kauffman and his wife Julie. I loved Santa Barbara and all the people I met and all the beautiful flowers and trees. Thanks to my friend, Phillip, who arranged some wonderful trips for me. Thanks to Dr. Robert Byers and staff in Santa Barbara who were kind and protective of my care. My time in Lompoc started my visit to California and Lompoc has ended my visit. I want to thank Dr. Cecilia Ramos and all the nurses in the Lompoc Skilled and Rehab Center. You took care of me and helped my daughter keep me safe. Good-bye to my children and their spouses and all my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Here I come Al- it's time for us to play golf!
There will be no visitation or service. I will go home and I will be home.

Best of love to my kids and for your life. Be careful, HK

I tried to do the very best for you, Mom. We had many adventures together and lots of fun. I know you were very lonely without Dad but we lived the time together as best as we could. I hope you were as happy as you could be. You will always be with Dad and me. I love you both.

To have a mother and father that gave unconditonal love is more valuable than any earthly possesion. In my time of grief, that love carries me forward. They will be in my heart for eternity.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. I was always thankful to have crossed life paths with the fine lady that was your mother. She was an honest and genuine person. It was a pleasure to have known her.

Rest in peace, dear Hazel. You and Al had a life well lived and I was proud to be your friend for many years. Al is waiting for you and you will be together throughout Eternity. Enjoy your golf games - no more typewriters/computers or printing presses. I love you both.
