George McDermott Obituary

MCDERMOTT, GEORGE G.,
70, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015.
He was a native Kentuckian, born August 17, 1945 and a Catholic. He was a 1963 graduate of Flaget HIgh School and served in the United States Navy on the USS Leahy until 1966. He worked at Anaconda Aluminum Co. and served his career at AT & T for 33 years as an outside technician and as a lineman.. He liked to play golf, watch pro football and UK and UofL basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula McDermott McKinney and Charles McDermott.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon "Sam" Lundie McDermott; sisters, Margie Eades and Mary Agnes Goldner; four nieces and three nephews; three great-nieces; five great-nephews; eight great-great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; and many friends.
His funeral is 10 am Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2-8 pm Wednesday.
Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society, 701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd, Louisville, KY 40203 or KY Humane Society, 241 Steedley Dr., Louisville, KY 40214-9935 or any charity of choice.

George will sure be missed by all of his Friends and Family and the ones that worked with him at Bell South "Sam" you know he is in no pain anymore and is watching out over you !! He is in God's hands!!
