RINEY, Hughleen Thompson ,

89, of Louisville, KY peacefully passed away Sunday February 12, 2017. Born January 2, 1928 in Detroit, MI.

Hughleen received her diploma from Mount St. Joseph Academy. She then went on to receive her degree in Medical Technology in Milwaukee, WI and worked as a Medical Technologist in Owensboro, KY.

Hughleen and her husband, Kelly Riney, moved to Louisville, KY, just over 23 years ago, where they could be closer to family. Hughleen loved to cook, sew, quilt, and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching her KY Wildcats play ball. She was a devout catholic, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was the proud mother of 9 children.

Hughleen was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kelly Riney; son, Daniel Mark Riney; her parents, Jerome Hugh & Mary Ellen Thompson; sister, Beverly Thompson; and her brothers, Sam Thompson and Tom Thompson.

She is survived by her children; Mary Kelly (Ted) Sils, Donna Jean (John) Warder, Greg Riney (Lenny - deceased), Anna Marie (Kelly) Richardson, Jeff (Shelly) Riney, Barry (Lisa) Riney, Sharon (Barry) Marcum, and David Riney; eight grandchildren; Ashley (Jason) Tucker, Lauren Riney, Lindsey (Jacob) Ball, Daniel Weber, Chelsea Riney, Natalie Riney, Russell Marcum and Ellie Marcum; sisters, Catherine (Bernard) Hayden, Helen Sims; and brothers, Dan Thompson and George Thompson.

Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm Thursday, February 16, with prayers at 7 pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd., Louisville, KY

The funeral mass will be celebrated at noon Friday, February 17 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
