Mary Howard Obituary

HOWARD, MARY JOAN "JODY" KENNEDY, 79, of Louisville, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.

She was born October 3, 1931, the daughter of Harry and Mary Elizabeth (Lally) Kennedy. Jody was a housewife, former owner of Howard's Cleaners and a graduate of Presentation Academy Class of 1949 and Bryant Stratton Business School in 1950. She was a member of the Columbia Ladies 2761 Knights of Columbus, Womans Auxiliary 1693 Hobart Beach Post and the St. Lawrence Seniors.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William V. "Bill" Howard; her son, Paul Howard (Gemma); daughters, Janet Millay (Mike) and Mary Beth Lykins (Jeff); grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Justin Howard, Brandon Lykins and Kramer and Kennedy Millay; sister, Val Jean Krish (Ted); and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Krekel and Mary Jane Brotzge.

Mass of Christian Burial is 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Dr., with burial 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation: 1-4 p.m. Tuesday at Keenan's Funeral Home, 4724 Dixie Hwy., at Rockford Lane, and 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to James Graham Brown Cancer Center or St. Lawrence Building Fund.

Jim and I are in Florida, and we were saddened to hear about Jodies death. We do not know your family except for you, Val Jean and Ted, but all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will all miss her beautiful smile and kind way.

I was saddened to read about Jody's passing. Bill and Jody were always very kind and really meant a lot to me, so much so they stood as Laura's Godparents. I remember all the fun times during family gatherings. I have fond memories of all of you and pray for God's comfort in days ahead.
