Michael Howe Obituary
Loving Husband
LOWELL-- Michael A. Howe, age 83, a longtime resident of the Raymond J. Lord Manor, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Westford House, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Carolyn M. (McInnis) (Ryan) Howe of Lowell.
Michael was born in Lowell, MA, on February 7, 1934, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (McDonough) Howe. He attended Lowell Schools and was a graduate of St. Patrick's Grammer School and Lowell High School.
Michael had been very active in politics in his younger years.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed for many years by the City of Lowell where he had been President of the City Workers Union AFL-CIO, Local 1705.
He was also an avid reader of both History and World Affairs.
Michael had also enjoyed his many walks with his wife over to Edgewood, prior to August of last year.
In additon to his wife Carolyn, he is survived by his 4 children; David Ryan and his wife Cathy of Dracut, Daniel Ryan and his wife Donna of Lowell, Carolyn Rae Welch and her husband Marc of Tyngsborough, and Bethany Sulecki of Merrimack, NH. A sister Barbara Scagos and her husband Bill of Florida. 6 grandchildren; Scott Ryan, Jason Ryan and his wife JoAnne, Jeffery Ryan and his wife Jennifer, Lisa Mambro and her husband Ciulio, Heather Reese and her husband Brian, and Kristine Galasso and her husband John. Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Michael was also the brother of the late; Maggie McAndrews, Joseph Howe and Jack Howe.
HOWE -- Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Michael's visiting hours on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA. His prayer service will follow at the conclusion of visiting hours in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Michael may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral Dirctor Victor J. Archambault Jr. (978-459-9315).
