William P. Rooney, 64, passed away Aug. 19th, 2009, beloved husband of Claire S. (Fournier) Rooney. Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 2 to 5 pm. A prayer service will follow in the Funeral Home at 5 o'clock. Interment will be private. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS,

Dear Claire & Family,
Steven and our family are so sad on the passing of your beloved husband and father Bill. Bill was Steve's closet friend; he loved spending time with Bill. Steve said he was been friends with Bill since 1967 when he first met him coming out of the service. My fondest memories are the two guys going fishing on Bill's boat. Claire and myself would meet them in Newburyport for dinner. The 4 of us would have dinner at Michael's Harborside. We always had a good time. Bill will surely be missed by many. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family. Take care,
