loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather
DRACUT -- Paul A. Plourde, Sr., 71, a Dracut resident, passed away following a lengthy illness on Tuesday evening, June 6, 2017, at the Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Judith E. (McDougall) Plourde with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell on December 12, 1945, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rolande (Bouchard) Plourde.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Plourde was employed by the Soloman Mental Health Hospital of Lowell.
He was a life member of the Club Passe Temps of Lowell. Paul enjoyed scratch tickets, especially 40X, watching the Boston Red Sox and listening to doo-wop music.
Most important to Mr. Plourde was the love of his family, spending time with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Paul's family would like to give a special thank you to the Lowell General Hospital staff, especially those in the respiratory unit, who gave him compassionate care during his illness.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son; Paul A. Plourde, Jr. and his wife Doris (Bevins) of Lowell; two daughters; Tina M. (Plourde) Nickles and her husband Stephen Nickles, Jr. and Jodie L. (Plourde) Hanlon and her husband Sean, all of Dracut, nine grandchil-dren; Paul A. Plourde, III, Justin Hudon, Jonathan Plourde, Kevin Bearden, Jr., Mathew Plourde, Brittany Plourde, Makayla Nickles, Jurnee Hanlon and Sean P. Hanlon; three great-grandchildren; Anthony, Janelle and Angelina, six siblings; Dolores "Dolly" McGillicuddy of Lowell, Robert and Donna Plourde of Lowell, Doris and Benjamin Worthen of VT, Roger "Ernie" Plourde of Dracut, Rosie and Charles Hildreth and Deborah McCabe, all of Lowell; four brothers-in-law; Albert and Raymond Normandin, both of CA, Donald and Carol McDougall of Epsom, NH, and Robert McDougall of Dracut; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was a brother of the late Raymond, Ronald and Alfred Plourde, Dorothy Young, Rolande "Tiger" Plourde and Theresa Maheu; son-in-law of the late Joseph and Ethel (Norman) McDougall and brother-in-law of the late John McDougall.
PLOURDE -- Relatives and friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 AM in St. Michael Church. Burial in the Oakland Cemetery, Dracut. For directions or condolences, please visit www.mckennaouellette.com.

It's been three weeks since my father has passed and I'm still having breakdowns the memories we share the visits to the cemetery all the quotes by family and friends. Tomorrow is Father's Day and with the lost of my
Uncle Paul, godfather it's going to be a emotional day for all his family. I will celebrate his life and cherish all the great memories., but he will be forever loved and missed everyday. Judy, Paul, Tina, and Jodie (& of rest of family)..... May Paul Sr. RIP forever and fly high with the angels. It's been a long time but I still have plenty of great memories. Especially like everyone else said just hanging out around pool, hearing you listen to your music. Uncle Paul...I dont know where to start.To my family,im so sorry for your loss. I just want to say I am so proud to be your niece! You were one of a kind.I could sit here and write a whole book about me growing up with You, Aunt Judy, Tina, Jodie, and Pauly but there isnt enough room!Most of my found memories growing up is with YOU! I know as we got older we grow apart abit but it did not mean I did not love and miss you. I Love you Uncle Paul! I dont know where to begin, so man memories we have made from horseshoe tournaments at your house to swimming in the pool with you and all the cousins, from listing to as you would call them (Oldies But Goodies) sitting by the fire roasting marshmellows and the the times the bus would drop me off at the bus stop and i would see your old suzuki jeep you drove i knew i was going to aunt judy and uncle pauls to go swimming and hang out and eat sweets and drink shaw farm chocolate milk, you will really be missed fly high up there with all my other loved ones that god called to go home. Rest In Paradise Uncle Paul look after us and guide us in this life
