Shellee, Steve, and Lisa:
It is hard to believe that it has been 6 years since your Mom passed away. At the time of her death, it was equally difficult to believe that she was gone, but we believed that she joined your Dad and Tod in our dear Lord's heavenly kingdom. All those wonderful years in Okemos, when our families got together on frequent occasions, those memories come flooding back to this day. We pray that each of you is well, and continue to enjoy good health and happiness. God's blessings in abundance. Gary and Joretta

To the family of Dorothy. Your mother and your Aunt Vera were my Godparents. She was so beautiful and kind, I called her my fairy godmother. I had not heard from her for several years and am so sorry to read of her passing. My condolences to all.

To the family of Dottie Klimaszewski: My husband and I have fond memories of Dottie from the time the three of us worked for the House of Representatives. She was such a gracious lady. We regret we cannot be with you today but are holding all of you up in prayer through this difficult time. Remember, precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Dot was a great lady. I knew her through Lisa and was amazed at her calm and elegant demeanor. She is very much at peace with her husband and son...I am sure of it! My thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

Dottie was such a lovely, sweet soul I immediately fell in love with when I met her. The first thing you learn is the deep love she had for her family. I feel blessed to have known her.
May God bless all of you.

One thing that immpressed me about Dottie was her gentle and generous way. She was a regal woman of high standards, and both so kind and thoughtful... which was evident even as she cared for her beloved dog. She shared several of her best recipes with me and we talked about our favorite books, people, cherry jam and God, among other things. She most especially loved her family and I heard many stories about her wonderful children and grandchildren. Dottie was a fine example of Christian love in action. I'm so grateful to have known such a beautiful, stellar woman - I will miss her. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.

I will always remember when Dorothy and Ted had me over for some dinners while attending MSU in the 70's. And then later when Dorothy and Steve visited with me on their travels through Canada some time ago. A very dear sweet soul now at home in the house of our Lord.
I leave with this thought that has at times comforted me. “You will lose someone you can't live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn't seal back up. And you come through. It's like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”

I didn't know Dottie, but I do know her lovely daughter Shellee. Dottie was so fortunate to have such a loving, attentive daughter who devoted so much of her time, attention, and love to her mother.
