Ralph Higdon Obituary

Ralph Lavern Higdon Alma Formerly of Eaton Rapids Passed away December 4, 2010 at the age of 92. He was born in Eaton Rapids, December 29, 1917, the son of Earl and Ethel (Priest) Higdon. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School in 1936. Ralph served as an Artillery man for the US Army during WWII in Africa and Europe. He was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge #63 F & AM in Eaton Rapids and a member of the High Wheelers Club in Florida. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed wood carving, buying, selling and collecting antiques. Ralph is survived by his sister, Arlene Andreas of Eaton Rapids; 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; brothers, Floyd and Maynard Higdon; sisters, Alice Higdon, Lillian Dillin and Myrtle Kendall. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday December 16, 2010 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids, with Pastor Daniel Hofmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Pathways, 1200 Wright Ave. Alma, MI. 48801.
