Carl Happy Ellis

Carl Happy Ellis Delta Twp. Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather died Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the age of 85. He was born December 13, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana. He was the son of Naseeb and Nellie Ellis. Carl loved and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He retired after 20 years of service as a design engineer with Oldsmobile. He enjoyed golf and woodworking. Carl handmade many furniture pieces for his home as well as pieces for his children and grandchildren. Surviving Carl is the love of his life of 65 years, Madaline (Mal); children, Carol Ellis, Richard (Nancy) Ellis, Susan (Ron) Fox, Timothy Ellis and Gregory (Colleen) Ellis; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Emiline and Charles Reifsnyder, sister-in-law, Peggy Haddad. Also surviving are many, many, nieces and nephews. Celebration Of The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 9, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Delta Chapel, 6020 W. Saginaw, Lansing, MI. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Carl.
