Alice Dodge Obituary

Alice Estella (Trowbridge) Dodge Holt Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister went to be with her Lord on September 6, 2010. Alice was born on May 1, 1930 the daughter of Allen and Lucille Trowbridge. Alice was a lifetime Lansing resident and retired from Michigan National Bank. She loved flowers, enjoyed bird watching and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Gordon Trowbridge; and one grandson, Craig Allen Dodge. Surviving are 5 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Gloria (Merritt Island, FL), Gary A. and Kathy (Ionia, MI), Randy and Rita (Lansing, MI), Jeff and Jennifer R. (Marquette, MI), Bryan and Laura (Parma, MI); 17 grandkids (5 grandsons and 12 granddaughters); 14.5 great-grandkids; 4 siblings, Robert (Marie) Trowbridge, Patricia (Donald) Starkweather, Lucille Simon, Donna (Thomas) Slee; and sister-in-law, Ruth Trowbridge. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ingham County Medical Care Facility, 3860 Dobie Rd., Okemos, MI 48864.

Alice has been a part of our family for many, many years. She was a very good friend of my mom's ever since I can remember. God bless her and all her family.

I remember a time about 37 years ago,the boys were gone so I spent a week on Alices couch because she was affraid alone. We stayed up & talked every night. Good memories.
