Bethel Mary Meister

Bethel Mary Meister Fairbanks, AK Bethel Mary Meister, age 95, passed away peacefully at The Denali Center in Fairbanks, AK on Friday, July 31, 2009. Bethel was born on September 1, 1913 to Berda Evenga and Jeremiah Derius Parker on the family farm in Mulliken, MI. She was married on July 14, 1943 to Ford Meister and spent 55 wonderful years of marriage together. They built their first home following WWII and had 3 small children. 10 years later their forth child was born into the family. She worked hard all her life, sewing, gardening, and canning for the family. She was a home maker all her life. Bethel moved to Alaska in 1996 because of her health problems. She was a member of North Pole Church of the Nazarene. Every Sunday since arriving in Alaska, the grandkids and great grandkids along with her children, had Sunday dinner together. She loved every minute of it. One year while road hunting, she was the one who spotted the moose to harvest. She loved getting out into nature. Bethel enjoyed camping and fishing also. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but she is in Heaven enjoying time with the Lord and Savior and family members who had passed on before her. Bethel is survived by her 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. There will be a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, August 15, 2009 in North Pole, AK.
