Betty Green Obituary

Betty Jane Green Age 74 of the Morrice/Perry area was called home to be with her Lord on Sunday April 11, 2010 at Ingham Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Perry on Wednesday April 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Gib Hale will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Perry. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Betty was born in Alma, MI on June 27, 1935, the daughter of Lewis & Alma B. (Cook) Whitford. She graduated from Haslett High School in 1955 and on December 15, 1978 she married Richard Green. Betty attended the Baptist Church of Haines City, FL where she and Richard retired to for 16 years. She was an avid reader, loving and giving person and loved to spend time with her family which meant the world to her. Betty was a bank teller for various banks in the area and retired from 1st Federal of Perry. From 1974 trough 1979 she delivered the Detroit Free Press to the Morrice area to help support her family. She is survived by her children: Steve (Julie) Johnston of Ashburn, VA, Mike (Trisha) Johnston of Owosso, Scott Johnston of Morrice, and Karen (Mike Miller) Johnston of Swartz Creek. Step children: Bill and Shelly Green, Greg and Stacy Green, Tressa and Jerry Tapp, and Chris and Ken Raber. Many grandchildren, 2 sisters; Maxine and Bob Evans, Erma King and Gene, brother Ray and Paula Whitford. She was predeceased by her husband Richard of 28 years, son David, granddaughter Bethany and her parents. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Betty including The Pines of Lansing and Ingham Regional Medical Center.
