Chester Bartos Obituary

Chester Bartos Lansing Age 89, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010. Chester was born July 9, 1921 in Lansing, the son of Walter and Mary (Latka) Bartos. He served his country with pride during WWII with the U.S. Army, where he participated in the European Theater and was awarded a Purple Heart. Chester retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years of service. He was also a long time member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. Chester was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou, in 2002. Surviving are his brother, Stanley Bartos; sisters-in-law, Wanda (Al) Sulskis and Sophia (John) Borzenski; several nieces and nephews also survive. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel with Deacon David Borzenski officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m until service time. The family would like thank the staff of Stoneleigh Residence for their care and compassion they gave to Chester. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh Residence. Friends may sign the online guest book at www.palmerbush.com
