Chester S. Piskornik

Chester S. Piskornik Lansing Age 80, our devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 after a short illness. He was born January 3, 1929 in Lansing, the son of John and Stella (Bielicki) Piskornik. Chester graduated from Eastern High School. He went to work for and retired from Wohlert Corp. after 42 years of service. For many years, he also worked at Richter's Gardens. Chester was a 50 year member with the Polish Falcons Nest #652 and was a huge MSU fan. He loved to fish, but most important in Chester's life was his devotion to his family. He is preceded in death by his beloved companion, Nermal (the cat). Surviving are his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Evelyn; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Delaney of Lansing, Kris (Rick) Smith of Eaton Rapids, Karen Anderson of Grand Rapids and Connie Piskornik of Lansing; 7 grandchildren, Michelle (Rodney) Delaney-Force, Aaron (Michelle) Burgess, Erik (Jessica) Smith, Ryan Anderson, Sarah (Philip) Anderson, Scott Smith and Emily Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel and Rebekah; sister, Jennie Remington. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
