Dean Haynes was my associate at New Mexico State University during his time there as a distinguished visiting professor. We worked on several projects and he helped me set up my webpages. He was a great inspiration and I miss his insights. I will always remember our visit to Mount Taylor!

Dean was my mentor. My years as grad student under his guidance changed my life for ever! He was not perfect, he was just a simple mortal, but his imperfections made him a great teacher and a great human being.

Thank you Dean wherever you are!

Dean was a creative, stimulating, and supportive colleague at MSU who significantly advanced the science and delivery of Integrated Pest Management across the globe. He also kept family and friends utmost in his priorities. He will be greatly missed, but may his inspirational example live on.

I was very much saddened to hear of Dean's death. I first met him when he was the Gerald Thomas Chair here at New Mexico State University and he and I worked on a number of projects together. Dean was always upbeat and full of ideas on how to improve our research. In these he was almost always right. He was a great friend and colleague and we will miss him deeply. My deepest sympathy to his family, especially Mindy, who is also a great friend.

To a great man that shared alot at the Peacock Road Tree Farm with all the employees there. It will be different not seeing you walking the dogs around but will be always remembered. You will be greatly missed by the Smith-Sipka Family.

Dean Haynes, was a great friend and Professor for many of us that had the honor to be his students. Although he is physically gone he lives in the memory of those that are beneficiaries of his knowledge and contributions to the world of science. Good bye dear friend!

To a great friend and colleague who taught me a lot through the years we spent together at MSU. Always cantankerous in an amusing sort of way, but I loved the guy. I was so happy that I spoke with him before surgery and we shared some great memories at MSU together. My sympathy is with the family. Warm regards, Rich Merritt, Professor
