Marilyn,

"How sad it was to hear of Don's passing. Debbie and I offer our prayers to you and your family. We will always hold onto the memories of the times we spent together in Florida. Saint Patrick's Day, our bicycle trip into the Everglades and our time with you and Don at the Groves. Don's smile and sense of humor is something we will always remember. We can just imagine all the lives Don touch with lasting memories."

Mrs. Bowker and Pam,
I just learned of Mr. Bowker's death. He was such a great teacher. I graduated from Holt in 1979, but maintained contact for several years after, including a few times when he came to Atlanta, where I moved after college.

He was way cool. Timothy Gendreau 619.922.2244

My thoughts and prayers are with you. What a wonderful man. He was my assistant principal in high school and I worked with him later when I became a Holt High School employee. I'll miss that smile he always had on his face. He always spoke so highly of you and could tell you were best of friends. Your relationship is an inspiration.

August 13, 2010

Dear Marilyn,
We have been out of town and just received word of Don's passing. We are so sorry to hear of this. Dave and I both have fond memories of Don at cheer events. I remember one time you and I were racing all over setting up something when I ran, almost literally into Don sitting in a lounge area. I greeted him and asked how he was doing. He commented that he was just waiting for your next job for him. He was a supportive and helpful man...so special to have as your helpmate in life.
He was such a good man and a supportive husband. Speaking as someone who has had the blessing of the same wonderful kind of husband, I know that this a very difficult loss.
Please know that you and your daughter, Pam, and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand as you go through the days, weeks, and years ahead.

Mrs Bowker,
I was a 1984 Holt High School graduate who had your husband as a drafting instructor! He was probably my most favorite instructor. Very fair, but fun, and I learned a lot from him.
I remember he always had contests with his students for making the biggest masking tape balls from everyday drawings.
I am very sorry for your loss, and wanted to send my condolenses!
Take care and God Bless!

Mrs. Bowker,
We are saddened to hear of Don's passing. He was such a nice man, both in and out of work. His quiet, friendly manner was the perfect counterpoint to your vivacious nature-55 yrs of marriage proves that!

May his light in your heart bring you peace.

Marilyn and Pam - do not be sad. All of my memories of Don were happy ones - from our road trips to MEA (esp. when Pam presented her dad a cake in Detroit and an entire arena sang happy 50th Birthday to him}, to the " Drive-by" Van moon, and many more.
He allways made me laugh, had the greatest sence of humor, and told the best jokes.
I will miss him as we all will - but will never forget him.

He lived a full life, dedicating his career to helping and serving others, and you must be proud of all he accomplished during his lifetime. God bless...
