Douglas Jacobs Obituary

Douglas Brent Jacobs Doug went home to be with the Lord and Savior on January 1, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Ovid, Michigan on September 3, 1943 and lived in the area his whole life. Doug was a Navy veteran and served his country for 4 years of active duty. He retired from G. M. after 35 years of dedicated service and also was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Jacobs, and Violet and Martin Vitek. Surviving are his wife, Patricia; 3 sons, Michael, Eric (LeaAnne), and Christopher Jacobs; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Robert) Altvater; 2 nephews, Kim, and Mark (Fran) Altvater; and many other family members and friends. Visitation is from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Monday at church with funeral services 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, at the Heritage Baptist Church, 1380 E. Round Lake Rd., DeWitt, MI with Pastor Shawn Smith officiating. Interment Gunnisonville Cemetery with V.F.W. Post 671 of DeWitt providing military honors. Friends may visit the guest book at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing.

eric&leaAnne,
we may be far away but know you are in our prayers. there are no words to truly comfort you at this time, just know we are near in spirit. we love you both dearly , only wish we were there to give you a big hug. we know the good lord has your father in his hands safe, free of pain and suffering, where we all hope to be one day.god bless your entire family as you endure these next few days.
