Douglas Gross Obituary

Douglas J. "Doug" Gross St. Charles Douglas J. "Doug" Gross, age 55, formerly of St. Johns, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. He was born in Eureka, Michigan on July 24, 1954, the son of Jim and Bertha (Cordrey) Gross. He worked at Dana Corp in St. Johns before purchasing a tavern in St. Charles. Doug served on the St. Charles City Council. Doug is survived by his life partner, Brenda LaFountaine, his step-daughter, Natasha Harris, step-son, Richard LaFountaine, grandchildren, Emilee Harris and Erin Rutch, half-brother, Terry (Wendy) Gross, special aunt, Arlene (Rich) McDougall and nieces and nephews. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Crowell and half-brother, Gary Gross. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns. Burial followed the funeral mass at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of his family's choice.
