Duane Brooks Obituary

Duane Brooks Mason Born November 18, 1931, in Haslett; died April 15, 2010, at the age of 78. Duane had retired from DeWitt Grain in 1995 and loved farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha (Piper) Brooks, and sister, Dorothy Borton, in 2009. Surviving are his wife, Carol; children, Jessica (Brian) Kiger of Mason, James Brooks of Lansing, Katrina (James) Cariano of Cadillac, Alan (Shirley) Carpenter of Dallas, TX, and Martha Neibert of Traverse City; grandchildren, Caleb Kiger, Dawn Nartker, Angela Rought, Brandy Neibert and Rachael Neibert; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Brooks of DeWitt. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Interment will follow in Summit Cemetery, Williamston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S.
