Elizabeth Koonter Obituary

Elizabeth M. Koonter Laingsburg Age 80, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at "We Care" Adult Foster Home. She was born September 23, 1929 in Owosso, the daughter of Albert and Lizzie (Herblet) Forrest. She graduated from Ovid High School in 1948 and then on October 29, 1949 she married Donald Ray Koonter. She had worked at Toledo Com. in Owosso and Michigan State Police. She is survived by her four children; Daniel (Anzhelika) Koonter of Kalkaska, Kenny (Leona) Koonter, Gary (Barb)Koonter and Carrie (Mary McDougal)Koonter all of Laingsburg, six grandchildren; Troy (Anita) Koonter, Tina (Jeff) Ray, Teresa Densmore, Karen Koonter, Amy (Mark) Gugel, Mark (Kelli) Koonter, Kimberly (Marvin) Balcarcel and Alex Avramenko, 16 great-grandchildren; Keith, Kevin, Klinton, Kyle, Olivia, Lucas, MacKenzie, Riley, Jesse, Maya, Logan, Zachary, Calvin, Cameron, Jasmine and Matthew, two sisters; Lena Benak of Marshall and Katie Zdenahlik of Haslett. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, brother Albert Forrest, sisters; Alberta Forrest and Doris Nickols and great-grandson Michael Balcarcel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Laingsburg Chapel with Pastor Elbert Dulworth officiating. Family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Laingsburg Cemetery. A special thank you to Jo and Trina from Sparrow-Hospice and everyone from "We Care" Adult Foster Care. They showed compassion and Love to Liz and all her family.
