Evelyn Russell Obituary

Evelyn Martha Russell Dimondale Evelyn left this life to be with the Lord on April 8, 2010 at the age of 91 surrounded by her family. She was born January 31, 1919 in Lansing, the daughter of Charles and Ada Fay. Evelyn graduated from Central High School and Beauty College in Lansing. On September 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Russell in Lansing. The couple celebrated their 68th anniversary in 2009. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Robert; two children, JoLynn (Lee) Ross of Spring Arbor and Michael R. Russell of Dimondale; five grandchildren; four great-grandsons; her sister, Josephine Hathaway of Lansing; and a host of close friends. The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with Rev. Sharon Myers officiating. Cremation will follow the services and a private graveside service will be held later at Dimondale Cemetery. It was Evelyn's wish that any memorial donation be made to First Presbyterian Church of Dimondale.

Evelyn will always be the beautiful lady I remember from growing up in Dimondale. She was always so classy you wanted to be just like her. Kappy is waiting in heaven for her so they can catch up on all the news. I will always hold Evelyn close to my heart.
