F. J. Mildred Richardson Detroit Mr. Herman O. Mitchell, Sr., Lansing, MI. announces the passing of his sister, Mrs. F. J. Mildred Richardson of Detroit, MI, on Saturday, July 17, 2010. Services Saturday July 24, 12:30p.m. family hour, 1:00p.m. funeral at James H. Cole Funeral Home (Chapel), W. Grand Blvd., Detroit, MI. Interment, Detroit Memorial Park East Warren, MI. Frances June Mitchell, also affectionately known as Mildred, was born on June 5, 1929 in Detroit, MI. She was the second child of three children. She attended Northeastern High School and Wayne State University in Detroit. She professed Christ at an early age. Mildred married Albert Richardson, Jr., and from this union there were two daughters Sandra Richardson Smith, Carolyn Thurman. Mildred's only son preceded her in death. Mildred worked for the City of Detroit as a Senior Counselor Aide for 25 years before retiring. During that time she was instrumental in helping many people obtain employment. Volunteer service was a very important part of her life. Mildred volunteered in her church, New Creation Christian Center, the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit, and the Michigan Red Cross. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Nurses Guild. She leaves to cherish her loving memories a brother, Herman O. Mitchell, Sr., Lansing, MI; two daughters, Sandra, Carolyn Denise, stepdaughter Fatima Renee; nine grandchildren, DeMarko (Myesha), Tivon Kareem (Nicole), Adanna Nekesa, Mia LaShay (John), Ebony Joy, Andrea Renee; four great-grandchildren, Sandra Celeste, Jayla Denise, Jeremiah, Jalen John; a cousin Louise Robinson, and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son Keith; a sister Jewell Hynes.
