Francis Heckman Obituary

Francis George Heckman Pewamo Age 76, loving husband, father, grandfather passed away on May 8, 2010. He was born June 15, 1933 in Pewamo the son of Frank and Mary (Diller) Heckman. Fran was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. He served our country in the United States Army serving in Germany and was a lifetime member and past Post Commander the V.F.W. Post #3733. Fran was an avid P-W sports fan attending many games as a fan and a coach. He supported the P-W Booster Club and the Parents for Sports Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Donna Heckman. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Celeste; children, Rosemary (Steve) Halfmann, Frank (Darlene) Heckman, Jane (Ken) Martin, Donna (Mike) Wirth, George (Jeanne) Heckman, Dan (Julie) Heckman and Pat Heckman; 18 grandchildren; brother, Bill (Catherine) Heckman; several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Charlon O. Mason at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #3733. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., both Tuesday and Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Post #3733 Building Fund in memory of Fran. Arrangements are being handled by the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com
