Honestly, i'm not sure what to say. I never met him, even though he was my grandpa. Yep, Cristina (Tina) had kids. I'm one of them, Gracie. I've heard so much about him, and I wish I could meet him. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Peg, Nicole, Tina, Cammie & Danielle,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have great memories of babysitting for you for several years. You were like a second family to me. I once complained to George that he paid me too much and he told me that he paid his employees more than me and yet I had the most important job of taking care of his girls. How could I not take the money :). I will never forget that. George was a wonderful man with a wonderful family.

Peg and Family,
It seems as though I have known George forever, it was such a shock to hear of his passing. Friends and I would gather at the restrauant after work (years ago) to laugh and talk, and to especially give "our georgie" a hard time, which he seemed to love. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during your time of grief.

Dear Peggy and family,
My condolences as you mourn the loss of husband and father.
While my contact with the family was limited, "Coscarelli's" was the place to go when I first came to Lansing as principal of Immaculate Heart of Mary-St. Casimir School. I said Hi to George many a time as we gathered for a TGIF.
God bless you in these days ahead as George now rests in peace.

Growing up in the neighborhood around the store, George (and father Charlie) were part of the lives of my family and myself. He treated us as friends, not just customers. In 1984 my wife and I celebrated our wedding reception at the restaurant. Not only was George the perfect host, but when it was time to pay the bill, we found that it was for only a token amount -a wedding gift from George! His kindness and friendship will always be remembered.

I had the good fortune to work for Mr. Coscarelli as a cook at his restaurant on Cedar St. It was a great place to work and I learned a lot during the time I was there. George was a good boss and I remember how we always had to watch out when he came back to the kitchen to "show us how it is done". George cared about his restaurant and the people who worked there. It was a very popular restaurant back then and we had a lot of regular customers who made it an enjoyable place to work and we took pride in doing our best because George would always let us know that he appreciated our efforts. Working for George gave me job skills that I still use today. Thanks George!

Dear Peg and Girls,

I was a waitress at Coscarelli’s starting in 1979 and left in 1982 to move to Florida. My dad, Jack Smith delivered the meat to the restaurant for many years. A couple of years ago, I ran into George at Captain Curt’s and we had a long and great conversation. I have always had a tremendous amount of respect for him.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Peg,
Tom and I were so shocked and saddened to learn George had passed away. We stopped at Captain Curt's about every 6 weeks to pay him a visit. We had lunch with him about a month before he died and he was fine. He was so proud of his grandsons, showing us pictures of them until his co-workers teased him about it. He knew more of what was going on in Lansing than we do, and we live there!

Tom will miss having George be the same age as he is for one day a year. Hope you are okay.... please call if you are in Lansing.

To all of George's family and friends:
Please accept Kay and my deepest sympathy for your loss. I grew up across the street on Riley, and George and I were within 10 days of being the same age. From playing with his American Flyer and my Lionel trains, to watching the liquor store on weekends when our parents went to their cottages, to cruizing to Sully's, we spent a lot of good times together.
I'm selfishly sorry I didn't get to spend as much time with him in our later years.
We will always remember him kindly, and miss him deeply.

I have many happy memories from Siesta Key.
