Harold Koorndyk Obituary

Harold Koorndyk Sr. Grand Rapids Harold Koorndyk Sr., 95, passed away July 4, 2010 in Alma, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Effy Koorndyk, wife of 73 years, Johanna (Ann); daughter-in-law Sally Koorndyk, and grandson Mark Koorndyk. Harold was the youngest of 12 siblings, all of which have passed. He retired from the Kroger Company, Executive Office; was a lifelong Mason of the Masonic York Lodge #410, Grand Rapids; served with the Shriner's and earned the degree of Scottish Rite. He lived at the Masonic Pathways for the past six years; was past member of Grace Episcopal Church and member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Grand Rapids. Surviving are his children: Harold (Jeanie) Koorndyk Jr, Joan (Eugene) Dennison, Earl Koorndyk, and Sandra (Rod) Mosier; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 30, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, MI 48917, with Fr. David Pike officiating. I have so many fond memories of my Uncle Harold & Aunt Anne, they were so loving and so much fun to be with! They were loved very much and will be remembered with happy thoughts!

Harold Jr., Joan, Earl and Sandra: Please accept my condolences for your the passing of you father. From everything I have heard about him, he was an exceptional person. The age at his passing is testimony of him having lived the good life.
