Rev. Joseph F. Eger, Jr. Rev. Joseph F. Eger, Jr., known by many as "Brother Joe", 81 of rural Ovid died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. Joe was born on Feb. 10. 1929 in Lansing, MI the son of Joseph F. and Mary (Kish) Eger Sr. He graduated from Ovid High School in 1946 and then Southeastern Bible Institute. On May 30, 1952 he married Jewell Brown in Lakeland, FL. Joe was a farmer and minister in Millersburg, MI, Perth Amboy NJ, Marysville TN and First Assembly of God in St. Johns for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, reading and his family. Survived by wife Jewell. Sons Joseph W. (Tessa) Eger and David F. (Anna) Eger both of Ovid. Daughter, Joy (Keith) Currie of Ovid. 2 grandchildren. Sister, Mary Anne Barrett of Ovid. Preceded in death by 2 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at First Assembly of God Church in St. Johns on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Eldon Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid.
