Joy A. Horace

Joy A. Horace Webberville Age 70, Joy passed away peacefully at home April 2, 2010. She was born November 22, 1939 in Beaverton to John and Laura Finucane. Joy loved to cook and eventually turned this love into her profession, becoming a gourmet chef. She became a partner in a restaurant and cooked in the food service industry for many years. Joy was also very active with the Clare Chamber of Commerce, fed the Ingham Township Dansville Fire and Mason Fire Departments during many of the Fourth of July fireworks celebrations, and many other charitable causes. In addition to cooking, Joy had many other hobbies. These included lifelong gardening and reading, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, the occasional casino and shopping. Joy was preceded in death by her father, John E. Finucane; mother, Laura J. Finucane in November, 2009; son, Michael Hane in October 2009 and brother, John C. Finucane. Surviving is her husband of 30 years, Donald; daughters, Holly (Scott) Speck of Dansville, Kim (Douglas) Brown of Brighton; step-daughter, Beth (Dale) Orrell of Winston-Salem, NC; step-sons, Michael (Ellen) Horace of Highland and Randy Horace of Canton; grandchildren, Amanda Hoffman, Felicity Hane, Alex Speck, Ashley Speck, Michael Horace II, Katharine Horace, Abbie Lowder, Drew Lowder, Kasey Orrell, Amber (Daniel) Boyce and Jessica Speak; great-grandchildren, Gabby Boyce and Brayden Speck; and her sister, Jean Sprague. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 10, 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1-hour prior at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston.
