Keith Conklin Obituary

Keith M. Conklin Elsie Keith M. Conklin, age 83, of Elsie, Michigan died Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Keith was born in St. Johns, Michigan on June 11, 1926, the son of Claude M. and Dora Mae (Wilkinson) Conklin. He resided all of his life in the Elsie area and graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1944. On April 25, 1953 he married Doris M Remus in Lansing, Michigan. Doris died August 26, 2006. Keith served his country in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #502 Elsie, Michigan. Keith worked for Fisher Body in Lansing, Michigan retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. Keith & Doris enjoyed spending summers at their home in Lake City, Michigan, and loved fishing and hunting for mushrooms. He was a member of Elsie United Methodist Church, Elsie, Michigan. Survivors include his daughter, Julie and Mark Semans of Owosso, MI, son Allen Conklin of Elsie, MI, stepson Randy and Sue Buchner; 8 grandchildren; Matthew Semans, Tyler Conklin, Katie-Marie and Lance Nethaway, Ashley Conklin, Gary Perkins, Troy and Kari Perkins, Jared Buchner, and Abby Buchner. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, stepdaughter Sandy Pretz, and 4 brothers; Regnald, Bernard, Claude, Duward Conklin. Memorials may be made to Elsie United Methodist Church or The Hospice Program. Online condolences can be sent to www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com.
