Lester Kleen Obituary

Lester H. Kleen Mason Age 87, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 1, 2009. He was born January 21, 1922, in Flanagan, Illinois, to Herman and Lydia (Rewerts) Kleen. He married Nancy Ruth Cook on November 21, 1951, in St. Louis, Michigan. Lester served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Phillipines. He retired from General Motors after working 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry building, auto mechanics and farming. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nancy; two daughters, Diane (Charles) Peirce, Karen (Art) McCleer; three grandsons, Joshua Peirce, Philip and Terence McCleer; three nephews, Ron (Nancy) Smejkal, George Smejkal, James (Carla) Kleen; and one niece, Rebecca (Bob) He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Alfred Kleen; one sister, Edna Smejkal; and a grandson, Charles Peirce, Jr. A graveside service was held August 3, 2009, at the New Haven Cemetery, with Pastor Ried Martin officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice. Arrangements were entrusted to the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City.
