Litty Moore Obituary

Litty Anne (Fernsler) Moore Lansing Litty died on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at age 87. She was born June 11, 1922, the seventh of nine children to Effie M. (Grooms) and Harry G. Fernsler of rural Charlotte, MI. Litty's schooling began in the one room Gresham School for her first eight years, she then attended high school in Charlotte, graduating in June 1939. She moved to Lansing to a job at Beurmann-Marshall Printing, where she met her husband of 67 years, Alvah J. Moore. Litty stayed home until her children were all in school and then she went back to work at Michigan State University. She retired in 1999 from Michigan State University, where she was the clinical secretary in the Microbiology Department for the U.S. Government Tuberculosis Research Project for fifteen years. Her last years, she worked in the Family Ecology Department. Litty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George, Lowell, Harry, and Carroll; sisters, Fleta, Helen and Mildred. She is survived by her chidren, Harry J. (Susie) of Charlotte, MI, Dennis A. (Linda) of Thompsonville, MI and Dianne S. (David O'Berry) of Owosso, MI; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jodi (Eric) Updyke and son, Cullen of Charlotte, NC, Wendi (Jon) Pitchford and children, Alex, Tye, Jacie and Jaylee of Portland, MI, Nathan Moore and friend, Angelika of Lansing, MI, Kirsten J. Moore of New York City, Matt (Ayumi) Cook and son, Alen of Yokohama, Japan, Amy Peters of Charlotte, MI and children, Dylan and Kira and Krista (Ed) King and daughter, Eden of Chicago, IL. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3383 Lake Lansing Rd., East Lansing, with Pastor Richard Moe officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Litty was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, East Lansing, MI. She requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions are made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.

Litty was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. Always happy and loving to me and my staff. I am truly blessed to have had her in my life and now as my guardian angel. Hoping your family will find the peace in your hearts knowing that she will always be with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
