Lyle Holcomb Obituary

Lyle Lee Holcomb Laingsburg November 20, 1925 - October 26, 2010 Lyle L. Holcomb, age 84 of Laingsburg, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Ingham Regional Medical Center. Lyle was born on November 20, 1925 in Byron, MI, the son of Claude and Lora (Preston) Holcomb. On November 29, 1946 he married Janice Hartz in Ionia. He was retired from Midland-Ross of Owosso and also was a farmer. He was a member of the Laingsburg volunteer Fire Dept. and Ambulance, the Board of Review, and the Laingsburg Cemetery Board; he drove Laingsburg school bus for four years; and was very active in the Laingsburg Nazarene Church. Lyle and Janice were the Grand Marshall's of the 2001 Laingsburg Spring Time Festival. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice; four children, Ronald (Sandy) of Lansing, Roy (Vicki) of Seney, MI, Roger (Grace) of Haslett and Ethel Newkirk of Laingsburg; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Claude (Donna) Holcomb; and two sisters, Lora (Keith) Clark of St. Johns and Grace Cook of Marion, MI. He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Laingsburg Chapel, with Pastor Kurt Rockafeller officiating. Family will meet with friends on Friday from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Laingsburg Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Nazarene Missionary Fund.
