Marion Hastings Obituary

Marion C. Hastings Charlotte Age 87, died July 16, 2010; born February 18, 1923 in Obion, Tennessee. Mr. Hastings was a resident of Charlotte for 50 years and retired from Oldsmobile after 34 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 months in the Pacific Theatre; attended Dimondale United Methodist Church; loved bowling and golfing. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joyce; son, Sterling "Skip"; grandchildren, Nicholas Dennison and Sarina (R.J.) Wells; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh E. Wells; and sisters, Dorothy (David) Odom and Kennon Hatt. Services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI with Rev. Joe Houston officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Browne-Cavender Post #148 of Mason, MI. The family will receive friends on Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Dimondale United Methodist Church, 6801 Creyts Road, Dimondale, MI 48821 in memory of Mr. Hastings.
