Mary Darnell Obituary

Mary Ann Darnell Lansing Born July 30, 1917 in Highland, Michigan daughter of the late John and Mary Bess died on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the age of 92. Mary was a longtime member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She retired from Sparrow Hospital following 37 years of service as an L.P.N. and was a member of the Retired Nurses Association. Surviving is her nephew, Don (Linda) Chamberlin of Monroe, Michigan, along with many great nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Darnell; two sisters, Katie Chamberlin and Ann Pathrick and nephew, David Dejanovich. The Funeral service will be held at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol in Lansing on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul J. Lindloff officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Remus, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and the body will lie-in-state at the church on Friday for one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church.
