Maxine Hewson Obituary

Maxine E. Hewson East Lansing Born July 11, 1922 to Ellis and Edna (Tomlinson) Stofflett, Maxine E. Hewson died August 9, 2009 at the age of 87. She was married for 56 wonderful years to Donald Hewson. Maxine's greatest passion in life was her family. She created beautiful photo albums and enjoyed giving them as gifts for special occasions. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and planning family gatherings. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. She is survived by her husband; daughters, Joyce (Donald) Root, Judy (Charles) Wall, Deborah (Reo) Miller; sons, James (Janice) Hewson, and Gordon Bottomly; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine's Episcopal Chapel, 4650 Meridian Rd, Williamston, with the Rev. Jannel Glennie, Rector officiating. Contributions may be made to Hospice House of Mid Michigan, P.O. Box 30480, Lansing, MI 48909, or the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan, 1169 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48108 in memory of Maxine.

Don, Judy, Gordie, and all you kids, I just wanted to send my thoughts and love to all of you at this time. I remember all the good times we used to have as kids at the farm when my Dad and Mom (John and Maggie) would bring us out there on weekends. Prayers to everyone.
