Norma Parsons Obituary

Norma J. Parsons Grand Ledge Norma J. Parsons, wonderful and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away with her family beside her on August 14, 2009. Norma was born November 12, 1935 in Reed City, MI, daughter of Ralph and Elma (Britton) Bates. She was a former employee of the Grand Ledge Chair Factory; member of the Eagle Wesley Chapel and enjoyed quilting, sewing and was quite the painter. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert and their daughters: Roxanne Rappuhn of Grand Ledge, Melinda (David) Soule of Greenville and Pamela (Wayne Stine) Carpenter of Vermontville; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Donald (Jane) Bates, Robert Bates and Merl (Beverly) Bates; 3 sisters: Marion (Ron) Roberts, Arlene (Marlin) Shull and Jean Miller. She was predeceased by her son, Manley Parsons (2009); daughter, Theresa Parsons (2006) and sister, Ruth Lynch. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 2009 - 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Wesley Chapel, 13940 S. Grange Road, Eagle, MI 48822, with Pastor Tristan Borland officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Eagle Wesley Chapel or the McClaren Visiting Nurse & Hospice.
