Paxton Hoggard Obituary

Paxton "Pac-Man" Hoggard Potterville Paxton "Pac-Man" Hoggard, 30, of Potterville, MI went to join his "Daughter Quatro," Tabitha Stanton, in Heaven on September 23, 2009. "Packer" was born October 3, 1978 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Larry Hoggard of Lansing and Paula (Breininger) and Joe Mockbridge of Grand Ledge. He is survived by his wife, Toby (Kellogg); their 4 children, Derek, Makenna, Parker, and Karsyn; his parents; his wife's parents, Bob (Tina) Kellogg of Charlotte, and Sue Kellogg (Terry Geiger) of Lansing; Papa Kevin Foran; brother, Zach Hoggard (Mallory VanEpps); brothers-in-law, Lucas Kellogg, Todd (Natalie) Kellogg, Jon Cribb; the "Hogtons", Todd, Kate, Samantha, Zane and the late Tabi Stanton who called Paxton and Toby, "Mama and Papa dos"; and his loving caregiver, Brenda "Aunt B" Davis. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Florence Breininger Beam, Peyton "Bud" Beam, Garner O. Hoggard, and Velma Hoggard. "Pac-Man" was a wonderful dad, valuing his family most of all. He coached everything his kids participated in (a lengthy list of teams) and shared his passion and sportsmanship with the teams! He loved to camp with his family, hunt, fish and golf, even though he wasn't great at golfing. He dealt with his illness very bravely without complaints. He was employed at Spartan Motors and had a side business, "Paxton's Pro-Sound" that allowed him to be the life of the party at events for which he DJ'd. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Charlotte with Reverend Robin Crouch officiating. Interment will be at Benton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2009 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Hoggard Family, American Brain Tumor Association, or Eaton Community Hospice. Arrangements by Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte. Paxton's smile will forever be engraved in my memory. He had the best smile and didn't have to try too hard to bring a smile to others. Paxton was a good person and I will never understand why such people are taken from their families far too soon.

He has touched the lives of so many and I am grateful for him to have been a part of mine. We had lost touch over the years, but I can see from the pictures he remained the same happy go lucky person that I knew back in the day.

May all your good memories of Paxton bring you comfort during this difficult time.

Paxton coached our son 3 years on the Viking Baseball Travel Team. He was a great coach in all things including fundamentals as well as sportsmanship. We will always be grateful for his time and patients needed to coach kids of that age. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Though you and I were never close friends, nobody would ever be able to tell that when I saw you. You always had a warm & inviting personality from the first time I met you in the fall of 1994. Its a terrible tragedy to lose someone so good, let alone so young. But I do hope that for all the pain that comes from your leaving our world, the people you knew & touched are forever grateful for the time they had with you. Because our lives simply are better because of people like you in being in them. Thanks for being you Paxton.

My sincerest condolences to your entire family

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
