Robert Rogers Obituary

Robert John Rogers Lansing Age 64, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Bob left this world a better place by being here. He was kind, generous and a gentleman. Bob was a lifelong resident of Lansing, born March 21, 1946, a graduate of Monsignor O'Rafferty High School and Michigan State University. He retired from the State of Michigan, Dept. of Management and Budget-Site Section. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Rogers and mother, Barbara Bohnet Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Cherie and children, Zachary (Toni), Benjamin (April), Arron (David) Paternoster and Candace Watson; grandchildren, Noah, Morgan, Lily and Tyler; sisters, Judith (David) Mann, Meredith (Bill) DuPuis; extended family and many dear friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 28, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Bob's boyhood friend, Fr. John Byers as Celebrant. The family looks forward to receiving friends at the Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in Deepdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sparrow Home Care and Hospice. Friends may sign the online guest book at www.palmerbush.com. The family is being served by the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.

Peace be with you and the entire Rogers family. I am sorry I missed the funeral for Bob, with whom I had several connections, including being a classmate and a friend. May you be strengthened by your faith, and may Bob rest in peace in the promise of resurrection.
