Walter Neal Marcus

Walter Neal Marcus Mr. Walter Neal Marcus passed away in Wilmore Kentucky on September 28, 2010 at the age of 94 years. Mr. Marcus was born on November 1, 1915 in Greenfield, Tennessee and was the son of John Brown and Lillie Wallace Marcus, both of whom were members of pioneering families of Middle and West Tennessee. Mr. Marcus was raised in Greenfield and married Maxine Hall on 24 December 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Marcus later moved to Lansing, Michigan where he was a long time employee of the City of Lansing before retiring in 1978. Mr. and Mrs. Marcus were long time members of both Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Lansing Michigan. His brothers Jewell and Geather and his wife, Maxine Hall Marcus, preceded him in death. His sister, Frances and his children Dr. Phillip N. Marcus, Colonel Kevin B. Marcus, Virginia Marcus and Marilyn Marcus as well as eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces survive him. Funeral arrangements are being made with Hager - Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville, Kentucky and internment will be in Wilmore Cemetery, Wilmore Kentucky.
