Bill was a wonderful friend to many and a man who put a smile on the face of old and young alike, and may have been the most likeable man many of us met. When I was toiling late hours as Steam Railroading Institute President, trying to coordinate the initial Polar Express project, Bill was always a welcome visitor in the offices and our evening chats after a full day of operations were a joy. he will be missed by many, many of us.
